Slow upload speed

I tried to upload a file on mediafire but speed was too slow(around 45 KB/s).Is there any free file hosting service with good upload speed and resumable too?I'm in a college use proxy to connect to the internet.The download speed varies between 100KB/s and 1MB/s.

A couple of things:

1. Most free file hosting services offer average-decent upload speeds.

2. Upload speeds also depend on the kind of internet connection you have.

I've used 2shared a couple of times and it's pretty ok for small files.
