ComboFix - internet problem.

Hi there everyone!

Recently, I have downloaded and run ComboFix in order to remove malware soft and rootkits from my computer. I actually hoped that the program would remove the annoying PING.EXE process which caused the processor run at 100%. The program did so, the annoying process was removed and the computer was ok. But there is the problem which ComboFix left after cleaning up the computer. The Internet connection was lost. It is like all the drivers are affected by ComboFix. I run Windows 7 32-bit and every time I reboot the computer the icon of the Internet connection says that there is a problem (yellow indicator with an exclamation mark). It also says "Identifying..." and "No internet access". I tried many solutions regarding the issue and still haven't come up with the right one. I tried repairing the connection (no luck, the troubleshooter found nothing), reinstalling the drivers (no luck)...

So here is the question. Is there a solution for fixing that problem without reinstalling the OS?

At this moment I cannot provide you with the log of the operation since I temporarily have no access to the other computer which the scan was performed on. I believe that it won't be necessary for any of you to come up with the solution since you might already know which files could be possibly affected by Combofix. If I am wrong, I will try to attach the file as soon as it is possible.

My system configuration:
M/B: Gigabyte EP43-S3L
Processor: Intel Core2Duo E4500, 2,2 GHz @ 2,66 GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD4750
RAM: 2x PDP Patriot 1GB
OS: Windows 7 32-bit

  • Do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
  • Please Do not Attach logs or put in code boxes.
  • Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  • Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
  • Do not run anything while running a fix.

In order for me to see the status of the infection I will need a new set of logs to start with.

Please print out or make a copy in notpad of any instructions given, as sometimes it is necessary to go offline and you will lose access to them.

DeFogger:

  • Please download DeFogger to your desktop.

    Double click DeFogger to run the tool.
  • The application window will appear
  • Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers
  • Click Yes to continue
  • A 'Finished!' message will appear
  • Click OK
  • DeFogger may ask you to reboot the machine, if it does - click OK
Do not re-enable these drivers until otherwise instructed.

Download DDS:

  • Please download DDS by sUBs from one of the links below and save it to your desktop:

    Please disable any anti-malware program that will block scripts from running before running DDS.

    • Double-Click on dds.scr and a command window will appear. This is normal.
    • Shortly after two logs will appear:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • A window will open instructing you save & post the logs
  • Save the logs to a convenient place such as your desktop
  • Copy the contents of both logs & post in your next reply
