Hi anglwngs

The program is called Limewire and is a P2P program. Although the program is known to be a clean install it is a major source of infection. Also, if you download files without a license you are performing an illegal operation and you put yourself in the possibily of a hefty fine from your government. If you download legal material though it's probably one of the 'cleaner' P2P softwares.

Just to add, you can download music for small fees legally at sites such as www.napster.com and www.itunes.com
You'll get better quality and peace of mind.

I use Napster. It is $10 a month. Download to your heart's content. Once you stop paying Napster, the songs will stop playing, as it is a subscription. Works on up to 3 machines on one account. Not a bad deal.
