LOS ANGELES ó Whitney Houston, who ruled as pop musicís queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Houstonís publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.

What a talent, what a beauty, what a tragedy.... I was by no means a big fan of her type of music but there's no denying she was an enormous talent with a magnificent voice.

R.I.P Whitney.

Nicely said, MissPlaced.

Her stirring rendition of The Star Spangled Banner @ the 1991 Super Bowl still gives me chills up my spine....

This was her best song ever, IMHO...

I have been a fan of Whitney Houston since I first heard her years ago. I fell in love with her phenomonal voice.

I have a memory of listening to her sing I Want to Dance With Somebody. When my children were little our house was the gathering place for the neighborhood kids during the summer. (I had the Kool Aid house)

One day a group of kids was at the house. We were in the living room and I Want to Dance With Somebody came on the radio. I started dancing, and before long all the kids were dancing with me. "Wow, Mrs. C, for an old lady you dance good".

My favorite Whitney song
