Yesterday with the help of savvy members I learned how to recover and format some unallocated space on my hard drive.

Today I tried to merge two adjacent drives (to make my C drive larger), using Partition Magic. It went through the process, but could not complete. This is the error message:

Error 1513: bad attribute position in file record. Please refer to the online user guide for instructions on how to resolve this issue.

I have not been able to find the online user guide. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

Gracias.

Chatice,

These two links should help.

Error "1513: Bad attribute position in file record"

Thanks, Animod. The Symantec link worked just fine.

I'm really happy to have discovered bleepingcomputer.com. Wish I had found it earlier. Would have saved a lot of gnashing of teeth.

What a wonderful bunch of experts.
