Is there such thing as freeware antivirus programmes...are the any good?

There are several free antivirus programs.
They work just as good, if not better, than the paid ones.
We have several listed here:

My personal choice is AVG Free.
Automatic updates, which install nearly every day.
Not the norm for most free security programs. :thumbsup:

AVG Free Edition Antivirus (I personally use)
Avast Home Edition Antivirus Freeware
AntiVir Personal Edition Classic Freeware
BitDefender 8 Free Edition
