My laptop (running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit) has recently been failing to boot properly after updating Windows, and it always goes into startup repair after booting incorrectly. I can get my laptop to work by halting start-up repair and restoring to a point before windows updated, but I'll just encounter the same problem later when Windows updates again. Is there any way to fix this, and how would it be fixed?

Are you running any antivirus or firewall software? It might be interfering with the update process. Try uninstalling it first.

You'll need to install the updates one by one until you find which update is causing the system to crash. Once you find it, just right click the update and choose hide update.
