connecting two pc's together

hi there;

i am trying to connect two pc's together: one running xp pro/linux, the other running win server/xp pro.

i want to connect the two together so that the hardware from both pc's can power the os im using.

this is per pc:

acer aspire 7520
amd athlonx2 64bit
nvidia graphics

any ideas?
