I deleted some trash files from my C:\Temp directory the other day.
Re-booted with zero problems.
When I emptied the Recycle Bin, upon my next reboot, I got the following Error when I logged into Windows.
I have no idea what it means. I just get the "Send Error Report" prompt, but nothing else.
Here are the contents of the error report. Thanks.

Did you send the error report? Sometimes when you do, they will return a link to a webpage that will describe the problem.

Yes I did send the report, but have not heard anything. It's been about 3 days.

Do you think a System Restore would work???
Thanks.

The link would have come back to you instantaneously.

A system restore might be a good idea, choose a date previous to the problems. Let us know.

start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore

Also, are you getting any blue screens with messages such as "0x0000005e" or other set of numbers and letters in that configuration?

No instantaneous link.
I have been getting BSODs when I try to install ZoneAlarm basic.
Here is the thread I posted in their forums regarding the install. The startup error did not seem to correlate with the BSODs, but I could be mistaken. I get the startup error on a normal reboot, not just a reboot after a BSOD. Nonetheless, here is the error I was getting (from the ZA thread I posted above):

Stop: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF16AF4D0, 0xF7BDD8D8, 0xF7BDD5D4)

There's a lot on google about this. You could start here:

Does ZoneAlarm show up in add/remove programs?

Have you tried a Windows Restore Point from before the problem started?

You're gonna have to remove all traces of ZoneAlarm before installing a firewall.

I'd suggest searching for the vsdatant.sys and removing it from your system.

Then, make sure that you've got all the Windows Updates installed, then try installing another firewall (I use Sygate Personal Firewall, but I hear that the Kerio firewall is also good).
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I tried a system restore, which only resulted in a perpetual BSOD loop.
So I booted in Safe Mode and un-did the system restore.

No, ZA does not show up in the Programs list, and I have deleted all related files (that I know of as outlined in the instructions given to me in the thread I linked in post #5.)

I may try another firewall, if I can find one that is good, and free. Using the XP firewall in the meantime...

I'll try digging around some more...

Instead of another firewall, I would redownload Zonealarm and reinstall it.

I have been using ZA for years with no problem whatsoever.

It may have been corrupted on the first download. Try again.
