Hello and thank you for the help.

Operating System: Windows XP Pro SP3

I noticed my computer slowing down and kind of freeze occasionally at random points. I opened msconfig startup tab and there I saw aadrive32.exe and zaberg.exe. I also noticed I cannot access certain webpages, for example the one where you can download TDSKiller and Malwarebytes homepage (I get the Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage error). I did manage to download MBAM on another location and I used a "Perform full scan" option. MBAM found many different types of infections in various locations (worms, trojans, backdoor agents, hijacks). I used MBAM to clean. I have not used any other antivirus or infection cleaning programs.

You don't have any AV program running.
Install ONE of these:
- Avast! free antivirus: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
- free Microsoft Security Essentials: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/products/security-essentials
- free Comodo Antivirus: http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/antivirus.php
Update, run full scan, report on any findings.

Could not open Avast and Comodo website. Was able to download and install Microsoft Security Essentials. However the scanning process froze somewhere near the end so I had to download a free version of ESET Nod32 antivirus. Scanned with Nod32 and this is the log:

Scan Log
Version of virus signature database: 6848 (20120201)

Number of scanned objects: 56666
Number of threats found: 3
Number of cleaned objects: 3
Time of completion: 9:29:27 Total scanning time: 18803 sec (05:13:23)

However the above log shows only 3 infections, there was more when scanning with Microsoft Security Essentials (13 or more if I'm not mistaken) before the scanning froze. After scanning with Nod32 v5 antivirus offline, I tried to scan with ESET Online scanner but the PC froze in the middle of scanning process. I had to reboot and then I scanned with MBAM once again and this is the result:

How is computer doing at the moment?

Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

=============================================================================

Please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner

  • Disable your antivirus program
  • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use
  • Click Start
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Check Scan archives
  • Click Start
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, click on List of found threats
  • Click on Export to text file , and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
    NOTE. If Eset doesn't find any threats it'll NOT produce any log.

Thank you for asking.

I think we have got rid of all of the viruses, trojans etc because:
  • ESET Online Scanner did not find anything;
  • ESET Antivirus v5 scanner (offline, trial version) did not find anything;
  • MBAM scanner did not find anything;
  • Microsoft Security Essentials scanner did not find anything.

I can open websites that did not open before (for example websites to TDSKiller, aswMBR, AVAST, Comodo).

However, I still experience the PC freezing issue which occurs occasionally. I had to reboot the PC twice while scanning with ESET Online Scanner because the PC froze. On 3rd attempt the scanning finished successfully but the PC froze again while I was writing a reply to you. Sometimes I can work at the PC for hours and sometimes it will freeze like in 5 minutes or so. So it does happen randomly and is not a software issue, I think, because I only have MS Windows installed. It freezes even when I don't do anything at the PC, I come back and discover it's frozen and again I have to push the reset button. It seems to be a hardware problem. The motherboard in this PC is quite old (from the year 2000), a Chaintech 7AJA motherboard.

Thank you for your help.
