Can I make winxp pro back up my external drive to an internal drive? Is there something in windows that will do this for me or do I have to just select everything on my external drive and copy it manually to the internal drive every now and again?

Thanks in advance!

I would think you could use Windows backup for this job.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Backup

Tell the wizard that you want to choose what to back up.

Or,

Copying and pasting may be faster. Just go to My Computer, double click on the external hard drive. cntl + a (select all), cntl + c (copy) , navigate to where you want the back up to go, and then cntl + v (paste).

I'll try the windows way first....never hurts to learn more about windows  If that doesn't work, then I'll go to my failsafe: drag and drop :flowers:

Thanks!

Sounds like a plan, but remember: Keyboard shortcuts can be your friend!

VIVA LA KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS  :flowers: :trumpet: I love using the keyboard shortcuts, and use them mostly with Photoshop. I use them so much that I sometimes forget where the command is that I'm looking for...is it under view?....nope.....file maybe....nope.....blah! Alt+I>I (PS shortcut Image>Image size).
