Hoping someone will be able to help me here. I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook that's been locking up and crashing anytime I open programs. I have tried various anti virus programs and even restore points but nothing seems to resolve this. Have had this problem for 2 years now. I do play Mafia Wars frequently, but can only play that in "safe mode" which seems to be the only mode I can use without it crashing.

I was referred to you guys from another user. Thanks.

Is your Toshiba running the same OS as shipped with it?

Have you thought about trying to update the drivers?

Toshiba = https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/pubLogin.jsp (No login needed for drivers, only the forums)

What is the model?

I would backup anything you would hate to lose just in case before doing anything.

I would also suggest running a hard drive diagnostic and a memory test.

This Seagate test should work on your hard drive.
