I just built a PC from spare parts I had from two older computers (not that old, maybe 2-3 years) and the monitor has no signal. Just the orange standby light. Keep in mind I use this monitor for my current system.

Also the computer doesn't beep at all when starting up.

I have tried the following:

Two different power supplies
Two different motherboards and CPUs (one AMD, one Intel)
Taking out the graphics card, plugging it into onboard video
Taking out the RAM
Removing HD and CD drive

I'm not really sure what it could be at this point.

P.S. This case I had originally bought for my grandmother when I built a PC for her. When installing everything in the case, I guess it didn't work and used a different case for her PC, that's why I still have this case. Could it possibly be the case SOMEHOW?

Thanks in advance.

Just the orange standby light

Where is this amber blinking from? How about the tower, is it basically booting/running with no signal? Tried other compatible monitors yet?

The orange light is on on the monitor. It's not blinking either. This is the monitor I use for my current PC, it works fine.

The other computer is booting and staying on, just doesn't beep at all so I think it's hardware related. I don't have access to any other monitors at the moment.

Begin at the beginning...you get no POST, no video signal...you have no evidence that everything is properly put together.
