I have an external hard drive partition that shows empty via Windows Explorer/Computer - however, if I show properties on the partition, it shows 96 GB used. I have show hidden files on. Any explanations or suggestioins?

Where you went to set it to show hidden files (Folder Options), did you also make sure to uncheck the box for "Hide Protected Operating System Files (Recommended)" ?

If so, you can try this open source disk viewer.

It should show you what is eating up that 96GB
