Thanks to this forum, I was able to successfully remove the System Check Malware.

Everything seems to be back. My start icons are back, and everything appears on my desktop like it should, AFAIK.

My question is, is it ok to run CCleaner now? I started to run it, and it was clearing up a lot longer in the temp file section than it normally does, although it has been awhile since I last used it. I cancelled the clean.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

shouldn't hurt. I would recommend not using the registry cleaning option though.

Thanks for the response. I'm just worried that some of the integral parts of certain programs might still be in the temp folder.

Does unhide.exe move everthing back out of the temp folder, or just copy it back?

Also, why not the registry cleaner? I was gonna spruce that up next.
