Mod Edit: Split from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic435839.html/page__st__30 ~ Hamluis.

I'm having the same problem with Google Chrome. "The following page(s) have become unresponsive. You can wait for them to become responsive or kill them. IE is slower in general.

I also have XP HE with 512 MB of RAM. I read in some of the replies that 512 MB is not nearly enough RAM for XP. I acknowledge that.

I have followed BC's checklist for troubleshooting slow computers and completed the checklist. The problem is still there. I'm a little confused on some of the replies to the original post.

My question, is before I upgrade my RAM, what can I do specifically to resolve the unresponsive error in Google Chrome?

I may elect to install Firefox in the mean time.

Thanks much!

You can try using Firefox 3.6.25 and see if its slower or faster.

Thx, I went ahead and downloaded/installed the latest version of Firefox. Its running a bit faster than Google Chrome and no "Unresponsive errors."

I'm also shopping around to upgrade my RAM.

Cheers!
