Hi everyone. After having spent half my day trying sort out the WiFi on my laptop I'm just about getting there but one issue remains. The problematic machine is a HP Pavilion g6 laptop running Windows Home Premium with a Ralink RT5390 WiFi adapter and an O2 wirelessbox 2. The problem is that a mystery 'Unidentified network has appeared in my internet connections list. The listing reads 'Unidentified connection, no net access'. I don't seem to be able to click on it to delete or disconnect it. I've had some issues with my WiFi today and spent ages sorting that out and this is a leftover from the previous issue. That's a lengthly story, much of which unrelated to internet but I can post the details if needed. WiFi now seems to be working properly but I still have this Unidentified connection, no net access thing going on which wasn't there before.

So my question is how can I get rid of this unidentified connection?

Many thnks for reading.

Ah, thanks for the reply but I've just realised what was going on.

At first I was seeing was this...

This was after I had to reboot the machine to the last know good configuration when it refused to boot due to a 'necessary device being inaccessible'.

As my internet was previosly working properly and connects automatically I had not had any reason to look too closely at its icon so maybe these have been there all along without me noticing but on closer inspection today I now see I have some connections left over from when I was playing with Virtual box and VMplayer recently.

I dind't notice these yesterday but if I click on them in Network and sharing centre and select to disable them that gets rid of the unidentified connection message.

Thanks for responding so quickly anyway :-)
