Somehow I found myself administering a small network after 20 years of being a trucker. At the same time I found out that my much better educated colleagues have the ability to destroy computer systems just by looking at them, so I figured I probably need some help.
I look forward to learning from the members of this forum, and hope that I'm able to give something back. I have set up a test network at home with 3 computers running XP, Me and 98SE, which I am led to believe, reading networking forums, is fraught with difficulties. I may be of some use to anyone trying to get 98 to talk to XP as my network runs very well. TIP: bring 98 up to date using Windows update before you do anything else. Networking fails miserably without updates in place, Ask my wife!! She was ready to kill me before I discovered this little fact.
BTW, my profile indicates that I live in Canada, but I'm English, so bear with my spelling. I believe there may be some differences between what I type and what you are used to seeing.

Welcome to this great user community.
Not to worry, different spellings of programme are commonplace around here.
Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent.
