I cannot install Malwarebytes. I get this error (can download but during installation it informs me: Internal error: failed to expand shell folder constant ‘userappdata’.....I did download SUPERAntiSpyware and ran that. Nothing showing up but tracking cookies. I did a dumb thing...used Paltalk messenger. I have gotten crap off that before, I deleted the program.....(those pop up things that tell you your anti virus is out of date) and running Malwarebytes found it and got rid of it. I am getting that pop up crap occasionally but not all the time. If I even click on a link to download Malwarebytes it shuts down my Internet Explorer. I am no computer geek so any help appreciated. Thank you!

Install it and backup your registry to C:/Windows/erdnt

Click on start button and type

regedit and press ENTER key

Navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders

On the right side,you have a value called RECENT

Right click on Recent -delete
Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

Oh let me add I was finally able to download the Malwarebytes and other anti spamware program. Not sure how, it just finally downloaded them. What a bleeping pain....just cant get that icon off the bottom of my computer and not sure if it is a significant problem. I AM sure I got it off of Paltalk Instant Messenger and have deleted that piece of junk off my computer.

Finally. Deleted all the anti malware programs as none of them were doing anything. Did a system restore back to two weeks ago. Pain in the butt, had to update anti virus and Windows but it seems to have taken care of the problem. Thanks for the help.
