i cant open my internet explorer and any files that pertain to fire wall my modem says can't dial error i have errors #1068 any time i try to open a file in my control panel most of them dont open i have tryed restoring system but it wont restore any of the restore points i have tried opening in diagnostic mode and could not get to clear up i dont have the disk for windows xp i bought the computer from a independent computer shop but he did not give me the disk with the computer i have a new software for norton anti virus but it wont help if i cant register it online any suggestions

when ever i try to open fire wall file it says it cant find "dull" file

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827328 , I would try the FixIt tool and see if that solves anything.
