You mean, your internet connection is finished whence you close IE? How are you connecting to the internet? dialup? Check in the connection's properties, probably the option "disconnect when not necessary" or something like that, is checked.

If you are using Outlook Express to check your emails there is a setting there.
Open OE, click on 'Tools' then 'Options'. In the 'Options' window clcick on the 'Connections' tab.
Untick the box labelled "Hang up after sending and receiving".
Click 'Apply' and 'OK'.

Does IE just close the page, or close the window(s) for the site, or does it completely disconnect you from the internet? What Email service are you using for your web-based E-mails?
Thanks,
John
