Hello,

I am very new to this forum, and also quite new to Windows 7, so please be gentle with me. :)

Environment:
Windows 7 Home Premium
Firefox v7.01

The problem I am having is this:

When I type something into the Google search dialogue, then I hit enter, I get a list of search suggestions - as I would expect. When I click on one of these links, I am redirected to strange pages via pages like "bidsystem.com", "bidvertiser.com", "thealltimes.com", etc.

This problem only seems to be happening in my daughter's login, not my Admin login.

I have already tried running SpywareFighter v4.1.85, and this quarantined 3 files.

I may be naive, but I sort of expected McAfee Security Centre to protect me from things like this.

I think that when SpywareFighter was scanning the computer, McAfee did notify of some quarantined files, but I did not make a note of the details.

If it helps with the investigation, here are the details of McAfee Security Centre that I have installed:
McAfee Security Centre v11.0, Build 11.0.654
McAfee Virus Scan v15.0, Build 15.0.294
McAfee Personal Firewall v12.0, Build 12.0.345
McAfee Anti-Spam v12.0, Build 12.0.292
McAfee Parental Controls v13.0, Build 13.0.319
McAfee QuickClean and Shredder v11.0, Build 11.0.416

I am not sure what other information I should include, so this may do for the moment.

Any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Marlin000

Considering what you've posted, I suggest creating a new thread on the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs board.

Very Important! Carefully read through and follow these instructions before posting.

If it looks like I know what I'm doing, there's a pretty good chance the only reason for that is because
I once asked someone to run chkdsk /r and a BC Advisor smacked me in the back of the head.
