I think I have a instant message virus from my yahoo account. I don't even use instant messaging but I did, unawares, click on one. I had wanted to block it. It says " julieortegaf986 sent a message ". It seems harmless but it is blinking tab (actually multiple tabs)that won't go away. It's annoying. Now I have been reading that its a virus that gets in the computer via IM and can infect. I haven't really found it addressed here. I contacted yahoo and they say that it's because I use Mozilla and I should change to Chrome. I did this and there is no difference. I found on one forum outside of bleeping that one should just check out of IM. (I had never even checked into IM) But I tried and this evidently is blocked, probably by the virus. I am unable to delete the messages as well.
If you have any insight in this, I would appreciate. Mainly. I'm concerned about security of my files etc.
Thank you!
