A small box opened on my laptop tonight telling me that I my system is infected with the Tidserv Activity 2 virus. It says that a 'threat requiring manual removal detected'. I followed the 'tell me how' link and downloaded the backdoor.Tidserv removal tool.
I executed the tool on my machine and it first told me that it completed the repair.
I followed the instructions to update my virus definitions.
Later rebooted my laptop.
Same message popped up again. System infected with Tidserv Activity 2 requiring manual removal.
I executed the removal tool again and this time it did not find Tidserv on my machine.
Yet the window has popped up again. The Tidserv virus must still be on here.
Help!
