one of my friends is having a problem with his computer.

when his computer was working he got the following mesaage regarding some unknown file extension. IT aasked to insert the Windowws CD or else to keep it ..

he decided to keep it. & then after a few days his windows went down.

he came back to me & i asked him to give me his hard disk . THe moment i had his harddrive along with mine. my computer too had the same problem ..

i remoived it by Norton antivirus.. but cud not remove his.

what now is that he can not install his OS again & if he does the OS says that there is a HAL.dll missing..what should he do ?
