Hello Bleeping Computer folks! Been lurking around the site the last couple of days, seems like a great resource you got here.

Specifically, I am trying to get rid of the Vista Security 2012 thing. Have been following advice on this page:

I had a couple of questions, though, and forgive me if they are stupid, I am pretty rookie when it comes to this stuff.

The general gist seems to be to install and run FixNCR.reg, Rkill, and Malaware Bytes. Have successfully done all that, but I am still having problems.

I can't access anything whatsoever on the identity (1 of 2 on this computer) that seems to be visibly infested. Windows Explorer does not come up, I get the Vista Security warning followed by a completely black screen.

The other identity seems to work, though. So is it OK that I am installing/running these applications on this identity, rather than the one this is visibly affected?

Again, sorry if that is a painfully silly question. Have run a full scan Malaware Bytes several times now. Every time is finds several infections, and asks me to re-boot. When I do, I still seem to have the same problems.

Anyways, any pointers anyone can give me will be much appreciated. Have already got a lot of useful information from this site, which I thank you for.

- Ken
