Hi.

I have Vista basic installed on my laptop. Suddenly now when I try to boot up, I get "Error loading operating system"

I have the original vista recovery disk but when it runs, it gets as far as the windows green bar at the bottom, then wont go no further.

I have tried UBCD, Hirens Boot CD,Spotmau 2012 Golden Edition and not one will boot or give me options to repair. The computer just freezes at a certain point.

I was thinking that the MBR would need repairing but now I have no way of getting into it to repair it. I just cant understand why the computer wont fully boot ANY repair disks

Also I dont have the F8 recovery console option on this computer so cant use that either.

Is there a way of repairing the MBR any other way? Can it be done by removing the hard drive, putting it in a caddy, plug it into another computer by USB and actually repairing the MBR by putting the file in the windows folder somewhere?

Help needed urgently :(

What does the system manufacturer's support webpage say about the error?

System manufacturer and model?

Louis
