I have windows XP on my current system and have aquired a hard drive with vista on it.I would like to install this 2nd drive into an unused bay. What would I need to do? I have a Dell vostro 200
Intel Pentium Dual CoreE2140 160Ghz
1GB DDR2 SDRAM
250GB Serial ATA 7200RPM 8MB Cache

The 2nd drive is 650GB SATA.I intend to get more RAM later.

Depending on the source of the drive...you probably ought to delete everything on it, IMO.

If the hard drive came from a different system...the drivers/settings are probably not compatible with your hardware.

The hard drive may be infected, no one likes to consider it...but it happens.

If it's a drive from an OEM (Lenovo/HP, etc.) system...and you don't have a valid license to use said drive in a different system...you will have Product Activation issues, even if you don't have drivers/settings issues.
