what combination of programs would i use to erase malware,spyware trojans and viruses?

There are many free, good applications that will help keep your compute malware-free. You should have a Anti-virus that protects you real-time by scanning all incoming data, a firewall (the later versions of Windows has one; make sure it is activated), and one or two anti-spyware applications. Anti-malware applications are only as good as their definitions are current, so be sure to keep them updated. You should also be sure that any critical Windows patches are installed.
