Hi, my daughter's laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525. The screen is blank, when you turn it on, all the lights work and such. I connected her laptop to my desktop monitor, but her laptop puts my monitor to sleep, so I tried it again and was able to get it to the boot screen and booted in safe mode. I checked settings which I think are ok and rebooted but her screen is still dark and it put my monitor to sleep again. I hope I'm making sence with all this. Please any help would be great.

What changes made that could have contributed to this behavior? Can it boot to safemode properly and change any display or power settings? You might also want to check on the actions for closing the lid and or disabling sleep mode.

I checked all the settings at least I think I did? I think my 1 1/2 yr old granddaughter got ahold of it went the lid was open and was hitting all the keys till we got it away from her, so I was thinking maybe she did something to it but not sure.

Must be a function key and external display like a Fn + F7 found on my netbook. Check the key display icon found on your keyboard along with the suggestion prior.
