I was wondering if a standard DVD writer can write Dual-Layer DVD-Rs, if they even exist. I don't know what my model number and stuff is but I can run Belarc when I get home.

Thanks

If you DVD was built to write DVD Dual layer then of course it will, but if not it will not and cannot be made to write dual layer. This is a hardware fearture and not a software feature.

Everest Home (hardware and software information)
Belarc Diagnostic Tool

I prefer Everest but Belarc is great also. I think you can get the model number but not where it is dual layer or not.
