connecting to internet

i need help connecting my dell dimension 8300 to the internet via ethernet connection. i went to the dell support page for the drivers, and looked under network. i installed the "Broadcom-Diagnostics Utility" and "Broadcom-Driver". the dell computer runs xp pro. what do i need to do to connect to the internet?

The ethernet drivers are usually "Plug and Play" and should work without any user intervention UNLESS you use an unusual network card that Windows cannot install drivers for out of the box.
