Hi,

Trying to work on a computer that has no internet connectivity, but I am not certain that this is not virus/trojan etc based as I can not update the antivirus program that is currently on this unit.

The computer is running Windows XP, SP3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What is the make/model of machine in question?
What options are available for connecting to internet:
Wireless, ethernet, phone modem etc?

Go: HERE
Copy the driver installer to a USB device and connect it to the troublesome machine. Copy the installer to the desktop of the troublesome machine.
Follow the instructions to install: HERE
Hope this is helpful....

Good thinking but it wont help if the system is infected

Please list your installed antivirus and antimalware programs
You suspect a virus and so do I.
In the beginning there was the command line.

Seems I have overlooked another important factor.
Would it not be wise to post in the Am I Infected forum first?
Sorry.... :P
Good luck!

The antivirus on the computer is AVG v. 10.0.1416 It is probably worth mentioning that it is the free version. There is no antimalware program that I can find.

Should I be posting this in the Am I Infected forum? If so, then I will do that.

That would be a really good idea at this point.

Our malware folks are the best there is.
In the beginning there was the command line.
