I have been infected with Security Defender and have been unable to remove it under normal methods. Neither HouseCall nor eSet Online Scanner have detected it. MBAM did remove three instances of it, but when I restarted the computer, there it was again!

I ran RKill immediately upon startup (with Security Defender immediately launching as soon as I restarted the computer) and here is the log:

Rkill was run on 01/03/2012 at 9:14:26.
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium

Processes terminated by Rkill or while it was running:

C:\Program Files\EaseUS\Todo Backup\bin\Agent.exe
C:\ProgramData\FileOpen\Services\FileOpenManagerSvc32.exe
C:\Users\Glenn\AppData\Local\Workspace\workspaceupdate.exe

Rkill completed on 01/03/2012 at 9:14:46.

As you can see, there's nothing with the name "Security Defender" and I cannot find any programs or processes using this name. I did kill the rundll.exe process that it's using and it shows this sequence: 10624B52-5E28-B02A-A7CF-FCB9AB.

A manual search through regedit did not find this sequence appearing anywhere else.

HELP! THANKS!!!

Edit: Moved topic from Windows 7 to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

Press windows+R key and type

%appdata% and click ok

that will take you to APPDATA/ROAMING folder

Delete the SECURITY defender folder

On top, click on organize-Folder and search options

Click on View tab

check mark show hidden files

Uncheck '' hide operating system files and folders

click ok,now you should see

10624B52-5E28-B02A-A7CF-FCB9AB.avi 10624B52-5E28-B02A-A7CF-FCB9AB.ico

Delete them

Similarly go to following folders and delete those files

C:Users/username/APPDATA/LOCAL

C:/Windows/SYSTEM32

C:/PROGRAM DATA

Startup menu folders

You will not receive pop ups again

Good luck
