Hi guys, I was connecting a new dc jack cable to a laptop motherboard when i accidently bent over the ethernet port and it came loose from the motherboard, now the laptop won't boot up does this mean I have to buy a new motherboard????? Thanks
Most likely. However, if there are loose connections possibly touching and grounding out you may be able to just isolate them and have it work again. Had this problem with a Gateway that the user dropped and mangled a USB port. Unless it is a high dollar machine and almost new, you can scrap the old one and just buy a new one.
