I pulled out the crayons right after I opened the gazillion cans of Play Doh the 4 year old got for Christmas.

Do you know the smell of new cans of Play Doh have the same effect as new crayons?

Here is what my new crayon wrote on the resolution list:

Don't make any. You know from experience you won't keep them.

BTW, I still enjoy Play Doh. Nana (that's me) and the little girl created animals for our Play Doh zoo.

edit to add: I resolve to tell my friend ELMO that I value our friendship very much.

So there-one resolution I did keep.

My resolution is to completely ignore any national or local news, which is normally bad, I can do without that kind of gripe.

All I will take into account are those issues that directly affect ME and my family in terms of daily life and cost. Any other worldly or local events, however tragic or disturbing I could not give a coconut about.

My world is my property, family and daily logistics of survival, nothing more, nothing less.

Ten years ago I went on a supervised weight loss program and lost a load of weight. It has gradually been sneaking back up on me. On New Years day I weighed myself and I was about ten pounds away from my 2002 high.

Time to get serious and lose some weight, I'm afraid. Never fun.

I agree, not fun. But I have been using a web site called SparkPeople.com with some success, at least as far as keeping with a fitness regimen. It is a big online community, free to join, and really supportive. Come to think of it, it's a little bit like BC!

I did power yoga today, m'self. Much easier, I know, to STAY fit than to GET fit again :o
