All of my video files (with avi, wmf, mp3,4,5) on all drives internal as well as external have been changed to mkv estension. when I unrar a video file it defauts to mkv. Anybody know whats going on, and how to correct it. Thanks for the help

hi ,you might have install a new video player that used the mkv format and took over as the default player for your videos ,what program open when you click on one of these file to view the video .
here is info on the file type .you may need to uninstall the program that took over all the file types to get it all back to normal .

to change the default player back to normal you can go to control panel ,add and remove programs .on the left side see set defaults
