Hey, I heard Sunbelt Firewall is being discountinued and I was wondering which firewall I should purchase next. I thought about the product that's replacing Sunbelt - vipre - but after seeing mixed reviews on the Internet I'm a little hesitant to use it. Any recommendations/advice would be appreciated. Thank you

You ask a common question for which you will receive varying opinions and recommendations. Please see Choosing a Firewall.

After reading that, scroll up to the first topic posting and read Best Practices for Safe Computing - Prevention.

Sunbelt firewall is discontinued, true. But it went totally FREE.
They made, first, a beta of version 4.7.5 with one change - no more licence needed, and here's a link where you can still get it
It is totally free. And as usual, doesn't need any updates. Just chugs along doing the firewalling job it was designed to do.

Careful - it's for XP 32 bit (likely one reason to discontinue).

Vipre is a suite of sorts, and the firewall inside it is nowhere near as elaborate as the plain firewall is.
