If any sort of temp file cleaner or program such as 'disk cleanup' was ran the shortcut references to the start menu were deleted.

open up a windows explorer (NOT internet explorer) window, if you have a computer icon on the desktop double clicking that that would be an easy way to open it - in the box at the top (or address bar) type in "%temp%" and enter if you see a smtmp folder you are in good shape (just download and run unhide again) - if not you will be recreating the shortcuts manually or uninstalling and reinstalling programs.

post back with what you find.

more about unhide and what the viruses do.
