After using Superantispyware and Malwarebytes to remove antispyware 2012 malware I lost internet connectivity on reboot. The adapter status hangs at acquiring IP address (IP at 0,0,0,0) and repair reports unable to repair. I followed the procedure another user was guided through on this website and the virus removal worked but I'm guessing the virus corrupted my internet registry entries and the fix deleted corrupted entries. I do not have XP installation CDs because the store that reformatted my hard drive didn't give me any utility CDs. Help repairing my damaged registry would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi -
Just a quick basic check first - Please also list Make and model, and Wired (Ethernet) or Wireless connection.
Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Check that the only box ticked is Automatically detect settings > OK > OK
Do you think you may still have some of the infection left, or was it fully removed ??

Can you try to start in Safe mode with Networking, or is that dead also when you try to get Internet ??

Are there any other symptoms or problems that may be left from the infection (slow computer etc.) ??

Thank You -
EXTRA - Do NOT try any Registry cleaners or repairers without direct instructions -

Please download Farbar Service Scanner

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/farbar/FSS.exe

and run it on the computer with the issue.

* Press "Scan".
* It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
* Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
