I just re-installed the OS after upgrading the MOBO and RAM 2 days ago. When I stream videos on line, I usually select the full screen option. In the past, the video would automatically take up the entire screen of the monitor. Now, even if I select 'Full Screen Mode', the task bar still shows at the bottom of the screen. This does not happen if I'm watching a DVD, only when I stream movies/videos online.

I checked my browser but didn't see any options for that sort of thing. Seems like it's a setting somewhere in Windows that needs to be changed.

I know that in the properties dialogue for the task bar I can check 'Hide the taskbar'. I'd like to know what to do to have the task bar automatically hide itself when I stream videos. Can anybody help me with this?

Thanks,

Sherri

I usually select the full screen option.

Hi -
Do you usually select F11 or use another option to get Full Screen ??
F11 works on my Toshiba Satellite Windows 7. Please list your make and model -

Thank You -

What I should have made more clear is that when I'm streaming a movie or video, I click the option in the player to watch the video in "Full Screen Mode". In the past, I have seen nothing on the monitor other than the video, no task bar at the bottom of the screen.

Since re-installing Windows, the task bar doesn't automatically disappear. The video does actually go full screen, but the taskbar stays on top of the video. What I end up doing is right-clicking on the taskbar, selecting 'Properties' and checking the box 'Auto Hide the Taskbar'.
