My XP computer came down with the Windows XP 2012 virus the week before last, I took it to PC Warehouse, and Dan my tech said the virus was removed and cleaned, I picked it up and around 24 hours it came back. Dan said it had a different time stamp, so it was a different infection. He removed it and showed me how to use Malware removal program. I took the machine home and did scan on my drive and my external drive, they came up clean. The next morning, last Friday, I scanned it in the morning before doing anything and it came up clean, then I went to my mail box and cleared all emails, went to Eons my,social network, and had glitter graphics page open was making a Christmas message for my eons group, when the machine once again poped up with 2012 window, I trieed to run the malware software, it detected the virus, and I called Dan, he said to go to safty start up and then run the program.

The safety program would not start, it locked up, and the malware program would not start again in regular start up.

I shut the machine down and am now writing you on my old 98 machine.

I have some friends on Eons who told me I need to wipe my drive and reinstall. Dan said that I would now need to clean up, back up, and then wipe and reinstall.

I have already paid him twice now, and still have the same virus.

is there a way to load a disk in the cd rom and then use it to clean up the drive? I have a lot of stuff that I would hate to loose, and if I do need to wipe and reinstall how do I do it?

I have dos 6.6 and could start up with that in A and then somehow format C...

What do I do?

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
