Hi

I have an ADATA C802 USB stick which I keep word and Excel files on. I am unable to open one of my Excel files which is 80kb in size and just has text and numbers in it (ie no macros or formulas). It is a password protected file, and I had 2 worksheets in it. I last worked on it yesterday. When I now try to open it, it comes up with the message as below:

"file cannot be accessed. the file may be read-only or you may be trying to access a read only location, or the server the document is stored on may not be responding".

When I press "re-try" it says the file may be corrupted.

I have never had this trouble before with this file and have worked on it many times before. Other files I have on the USB stick are opening up fine.

I tried to search the Net for a recovery tool and found the ONTRACK TRIAL PROFESSIONAL link. When I ran it on the file, it completed saying 63kb recovery but when I open the repair file it is blank, so Im not sure if it was able to actually retreive the data at all.

Does anyone out there know how I can recover the file or tool available they can help me with?

Many thanks
