I too had the same problem as RogueZ, see post. I followed all the steps on BleepingComputer (link) to remove the Vista Home Security 2012 virus and now I am out of my wireless home network. Since our situation was mostly identical I followed all the steps through to post #10 working on Legacy_tdx.reg. However, I am still not cured. I hope its ok to continue this here. Please let me know if I need to start a new thread. Below is my last FSS file after the Legacy_tdx.reg procedure.

BTW My current Anti-Virus, Avast, is now putting the tdx.sys file in a chest. I can override the type as a False Positive but it wants the following info which I do not know how to answer:

File belongs to the following program - Program Name, Program Publisher, Program Version
It wants me to check off "The program comes from a trusted source". Lastly, it also has a box for any additional info.

Should I fill this out?

No because that file seems to no good either.
Try same operation but this time use tdx.sys file from this folder C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-tdi-over-tcpip_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6001.18000_none_ea3dc84bdc15a8b7

Post new FSS log.

Then we'll have to deal with missing registry keys.
I don't know how soon I'll be back....Christmas time :)

This tdx.sys file is good :)

Now we have several registry keys missing.
Let's see what we can do about it...

Following steps involve registry editing. Please create new restore point before proceeding!!!
How to:
XP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948247
Vista and Seven - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/create-a-restore-point-for-windows-vistas-system-restore/

Download Vista.zip file from here: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/files/download/9-registry-network-keys/
Unzip the file.
You'll find six files inside.
Right click on tdx.reg file, click "Merge".
Allow registry merge.
Restart computer, check internet connection and post new FSS log.

Good news :)

Yes, you have more issues there.
It looks like Windows firewall is not running and it can't be turned on.
Can you check?

Yes, the Firewall is not running. When I go to turn it on I get the following message:
Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings.

Right. This is because of missing registry keys:

Unfortunately those keys are computer specific and they can't be transferred from another Vista computer.

You have two choices:
- reinstall Windows
- install 3rd party firewall like Comodo free firewall: http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/free-download.html

Let me know which way you want to go.

How would I go about reinstalling Windows? They no longer supply a disc when you buy a PC like in the old days, so how?

Which would you suggest is the best option to go with?

Thanks again for your help.
