Greetings,

I've recently encountered a problem while running Shareaza and Torrentstorm where the system will crash and reboot after about five to ten minutes of use.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: System Error
Event Category: (102)
Event ID: 1003
Date: 11/5/2004
Time: 9:57:18 AM
User: N/A
Computer: WORLD-JOZASUKSA
Description:
Error code 0000007f, parameter1 00000000, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

0050: 30 30 30 30 0000

There is also a secondary issue with a second hard drive that I've installed. My primary drive is a ATA, while the secondary is an older IDE based drive. When I boot my system, Windows does not recognize the IDE drive but BIOS does. The only way that I can get Windows to acknowledge it's presence is to restart and go into BIOS to reconfigure the drive boot sequence, however, this has never caused any crash problems and it has only been within the last few days that this problem has occurred - as stated above while running P2P or BitTorrent clients.

System Specs.

ASUS P4P800-VM
Intel P4 Prescott 3.0 Ghz
1G Dual Channel RAM
WD Raptor 37 G Primary with OS
WD 40 G Secondary
Radeon 9600 256mb

Here also is a HijackThis Log in case needed.

Yeah you got some crapware on your machine. I am going to move this to another forum where it belongs and solve it there.

I assum the ---.---.-.- is where you edited out certain info?

Note, please read this carefully, as the steps do repeat a few times, but the last step does change a bit

Download killbox here:

KillBox

Unzip the folder to your desktop.

Start Killbox.exe

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the field labeled "Full path of file to delete" enter TGBRFV_.exe

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.

When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, press the NO button.

Next In the field labeled "Full path of file to delete" enter TGBRFV_5.dll

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.

When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, press the YES button.

Your computer will now reboot and check to see if the file is gone.

When it reboots, fix these entries in hijackthis:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=Userinit.exe,TGBRFV_
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: NavExcel Toolbar - {5AA06644-BC46-4220-A460-47A6EB47C96D} - C:\Program Files\NavExcel Search Toolbar\NavExcelBar.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Compliant] cawbpn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WindowsRegKey update] winupdate.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [WindowsRegKey update] winupdate.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Windows Compliant] cawbpn.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windows Compliant] cawbpn.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WindowsRegKey update] winupdate.exe
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Reboot and delete:

C:\Program Files\NavExcel Search Toolbar\
c:\windows\system32\cawbpn.exe
c:\windows\system32\winupdate.exe

If you do not want this entry to start up automatically:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ares] "C:\Program Files\Ares\Ares.exe" -h

Then fix it as well. You prob got a bunch of this crapware from ares installation.

Thanks for your help Grinler. I've followed your instructions but I was not able to delete this entry, should I do it with regedit?

Rebooted to safe mode and deleted via hijackthis. Still there on restart. As well, after about eleven hours of being crash free my initial problem is back with the same applications. Windows event viewer reports are the same as above.
