Hi everyone,

For starters I have an Asus GV50t with Vista home premium 64.

So recently I got that fun little "Vista Security 2012" virus. I thought I got rid of it until I noticed that my firewall and other security options were turned off and could not be turned back on. I upgraded and ran both Microsoft Security Essentials and Malware-bytes and they found the virus, or so I thought. After rebooting my laptop as recommended I found it will no longer start up. I get a blue screen with the message: "STOP: c0000135 {Unable To Locate Component} This application has failed to start because consrv was not found. Re-installing this application may fix this problem." I cannot boot the computer in any way. This includes safe mode or any other options.

After giving the problem a good Google I discovered that this may be the result of the virus not being removed completely, or something along those lines. I understand that I need to run farbar recovery scan tool, but unfortunately I don't have a Vista recovery disk. I (paid for) and downloaded one from neosmart. I don't know if I did something incorrectly but I place it in the disk drive and reboot but do not get a "repair" option.

Any kind of help would be appreciated!!!!
