Hello, my name is Mike and I recently stumbled upon this website after being plagued by malicious bad things on my computer.

It seems that the Spy Sheriff came to my town and well, wrecked my computing experience.

Using Avast, Spybot, Adaware, and moderate computing skills I could not get rid of it.

So now i'm looking around this community for tips.

Being redirected while surfing is one of the most annoying things...

Actually, there is a BC self-help tutorial that will show you how to get rid of Spysheriff. See the instructions here:

If you feel comfortable following the instructions, doing so may be faster than awaiting a member of the volunteer HJT team.
