Hi all:

So, as of a few days ago, I've noticed my iTunes won't open. I uninstalled it, and then reinstalled. Ultimately, I'll double-click on it, or right-click and "open," but then nothing will happen. When I open my Task Manager, it shows that it's running, though. HOWEVER, if I press Control/Shift/Double-Click and open it in Safe Mode, it opens fine.

I just recently had some infection issues (beaten by you all here at BleepingComputer! Thanks!) and have new security, so not sure if that's the cause.

Wondering if anyone might know what's doing this, or why it's doing it. Thanks!

Hello davidgarfield,

I don't use iTunes these days but I think iTunes requires Quick Time to operate properly.
Do you have Quick Time installed?

Also, What is your Operating System?

Nah - it's not Quicktime. I def have that installed. And as I said, I can open iTunes now as long as I only do it in safe mode.

Working with Windows 7, 64 bit.
