Greetings,

I have recently been experiencing the BSOD when shutting down the computer quite regularly. It gives the code 0x0000007F and mentions mismatched memory. I have also been experiencing the computer sporadically locking up whilst playing videos during the same period. I have updated video drivers to no avail and was hoping you could advise of appropriate action to take.

Thanks,

2na

Please...post the exact error message as it appears onscreen.

Let's try this.

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html .

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When autoscan is done (screen comes up), click Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

Well...I'm a big fan of the obvious...so I would uninstall your ATI video drivers completely (CC, Device Manager, Add/Remove Programs), then reboot and reinstall same.

My experience with ATI drivers is that solution usually overcomes the problem.

Done as you said and reinstalled the drivers. I'll give it a few days to see if the problem reccurs before reporting back.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Just had the same blue screen again.

Ran a memory check using this windows tool...

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

During one of the tests (WMATS+) the signal to the monitor cut out so can't report the results of the full test. I can currently only log in using VGA mode else the signal cuts out during the Windows loading process.
Any advice what to do next?

Further to this, soon after posting earlier the computer shut down unexpectedly, seemed like something may have overheated. Took cover off and let it cool down a while and has now booted normally. I suspect it may be a graphics card or RAM issue but not too clued up about what steps to take next.

Thanks
