Recently My son was caught looking at unwanted materials on the web. Being on parole, I have an agent regularly check my system for this unwanted data. Short of wiping, formatting and reloading the system, how can I clean out this computer? Please remember that I a am a begining level user, so you may need to be very specific. Thank you.

Suggest password for computer to prevent this happening and sit there and supervise when the son is on the computer

As Allan said that will work for Internet Explorer.

The programs below are suggested in this http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic426047.html message thread and are ones I have used myself.

Another option is TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer

From here: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/

"TFC (Temp File Cleaner) will clear out all temp folders for all user accounts (temp, IE temp, java, FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari), including Administrator, All Users, LocalService, NetworkService, and any other accounts in the user folder.

further on it says

TFC only cleans temp folders. TFC will not clean URL history, prefetch, or cookies"

"The main screen allows the user to either clean all temporary files, or select files for cleaning. The program also knows if Firefox and or Opera is being used, and gives the option of cleaning the temporary files associated with those applications. "

This one will clear the URL history for the three supported browsers
